Indications/Uses
Symptomatic relief of OA, RA, ankylosing spondylitis (AS), pain & signs of inflammation associated w/ acute gouty arthritis. Acute pain including that related to primary dysmenorrhea & minor dental procedures.
Dosage/Direction for Use
OA 30 mg once daily. Max: 60 mg daily. Patient w/ insufficient relief from symptoms May increased dose to 60 mg once daily. RA & AS 60 mg once daily. Max: 90 mg daily. Patient w/ insufficient relief from symptoms May increased dose to 90 mg once daily. Down-titrate dose to 60 mg once daily once patient is clinically stabilised. Acute gouty arthritis 120 mg once daily. Max duration of treatment: 8 days. Acute pain 90-120 mg once daily. Max duration of treatment: 8 days. Primary dysmenorrhea 120 mg once daily. Post-procedure dental pain 90 mg once daily. Max duration of treaatment: 3 days. Mild hepatic insufficiency (Child-Pugh score 5-6) Max: 60 mg once daily. Moderate hepatic insufficiency (Child-Pugh score 7-9) 30 mg once daily. Max: 60 mg every other day.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. CHF (NYHA II-IV). Established ischemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease &/or cerebrovascular disease (including patients who have recently undergone CABG or angioplasty). Patients w/ HTN whose BP has not been adequately controlled. Active peptic ulceration or GI bleeding. Patients who have developed signs of asthma, acute rhinitis, nasal polyps, angioneurotic oedema or urticaria following the administration of ASA or other NSAIDs. Inflammatory bowel disease. Severe hepatic dysfunction (Child-Pugh score >9). Patients w/ estimated CrCl <30 mL/min. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn & adolescents <16 yr.
