Vancomycin HCl

Indications/Uses

C. difficile-associated diarrhea. Enterocolitis caused by Staph aureus including methicillin-resistant strains in adult & ped patients <18 yr.

Dosage/Direction for Use

PO Adult C. difficile-associated diarrhea 125 mg qds for 10 days. Staphylococcal enterocolitis Total daily dosage: 500 mg-2 g in 3 or 4 divided doses for 7-10 days. Ped <18 yr C. difficile-associated diarrhea & staphylococcal enterocolitis 40 mg/kg in 3 or 4 divided doses for 7-10 days. Max total daily dosage: 2 g.

Administration

May be taken with or without food.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity.
