Indications/Uses
Palliative treatment of metastatic non-seminomatous germ cell carcinoma, advanced-stage refractory ovarian & bladder carcinoma, & refractory squamous cell carcinoma of the head & neck, as monotherapy or in combination w/ other chemotherapeutic agents. May be employed in addition to other modalities (eg, radiotherapy or surgery).
Dosage/Direction for Use
IV Adult & childn Monotherapy: 50-100 mg/m2 as single infusion every 3-4 wk or 15-20 mg/m2 daily infusion for 5 days every 3-4 wk. Administer infusion over 1-2 hr, longer infusion time of 6-8 hr may decrease GI & renal toxicities.
Contraindications
History of hypersensitivity to cisplatin or other platinum-containing compd. Hearing disorders. Bone marrow depression. Generalised infections. Renal impairment. Pregnancy & lactation.
