Belimumab

Indications/Uses

Add-on therapy in adult patients w/ active, auto-Ab +ve SLE w/ high degree of disease activity (eg, +ve anti-dsDNA & low complement) despite standard therapy. In combination w/ background immunosuppressive therapies for active lupus nephritis in adult patients.

Dosage/Direction for Use

IV Adult SLE & lupus nephritis 10 mg/kg infusion over 1 hr on days 0, 14 & 28, & at 4-wk intervals thereafter. Premed: May administer oral antihistamine w/ or w/o antipyretic before Benlysta infusion.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity.
