Indications/Uses

Treatment of staphylococcic, streptococcic & pneumococcic infections due to penicillin-susceptible microorganisms.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Most serious acute infections w/ or w/o bacteremia 300,000-600,000 u 4 hrly.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to penicillins.

Special Precautions

Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins. Renal impairment.

Adverse Reactions

GI disturbances, hypersensitivity reactions, anaphylaxis, superinfection.

Drug Interactions

Probenecid, aspirin, phenylbutazone, indomethacin prolongs plasma t_½ of benzylpenicillin.
