Indications/Uses
NIDDM.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Initially, 2.5-5 mg daily, adjusted according to response, up to 15 mg may be given as single dose. Max: 40 mg daily in divided doses.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 30 min before breakfast.
Contraindications
Diabetic ketoacidosis w/ or w/o coma; Juvenile, growth onset or brittle DM. Severe renal or hepatic impairment.
Special Precautions
Renal or hepatic impairment. Pregnancy & lactation. Elderly, debilitated patients.
Adverse Reactions
Hypoglycaemia, GI disturbances, allergic skin reactions, blood dyscrasias.

Drug Interactions
Concomitant use w/ NSAIDs, highly protein-bound drugs, salicylates, sulfonamides, chloramphenicol, probenecid, MAOIs, β-blockers.
