Adult 1 cap or 3 tsp 3 times daily. Childn 6-12 yr 1½ tsp 3 times daily.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to theophylline or xanthine derivatives. Gastric ulcer.
Special Precautions
Confirm if the patient have asthma prior to 1st time administration. Patients w/ hypoxemia, HTN, history of gastric ulcers, impaired liver function, chronic lung disorders. May irritate GI tract. Do not exceed suggested dosage. Call the nearest clinic or hospital if symptoms do not get better or they get worse after 1 hr. Discontinue use if tachycardia occurs. Pregnancy & lactation. Elderly (>55 yr) especially in male & chronic lung disease patients.
Concomitant use w/ β-blockers (eg, propanolol) may cause bronchospasm. Do not use in combination w/ other xanthines. Increased plasma conc w/ cimetidine, ciprofloxacin, clarithromycin, norfloxacin, erythromycin, troleandomycin & OCs. Decreased plasma conc w/ rifampicin, verapamil & diltiazem.
