Description:
Mechanism of Action: Benzylthiouracil blocks the production of thyroid hormones through thyroid peroxidase inhibition. It does not block the release of stored thyroid hormones, thus clinical effects are apparent only when the pre-formed hormones are depleted and concentrations of circulating hormones decline. |
