Should be used only when intubation and artificial ventilation can be ensued. Adults: Intubation 0.07-0.085mg/kg(balanced anaesthesia). Additional doses 0.01-0.015mg/kg at intervals of 50 mins. If intubation is done with succinylcholine, initial dose of pipercuronium is 0.05mg/kg. Children 1-4 years: My be less sensitive to pipercuronium than adults. Infants over 3 months: May be given same adult dosage based on weight. Renal failure: 0.04mg/kg or less.
