Contents
Paracetamol 250 mg, propyphenazone 150 mg, caffeine 50 mg
Indications/Uses
Headache & various pain eg, toothache, menstrual pain, migraine, neuralgia, neuritis, post-op & rheumatic pain; febrile illnesses (eg, flu).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 1-2 tab. May be taken 3 times in 24 hr.
Contraindications
Patients w/ severe heart failure; treatment of peri-op pain in CABG surgery. History of GI bleeding or perforation related to previous NSAID therapy; active or history of recurrent peptic ulcer/haemorrhage. Severe disorders of kidney function, congenital G6PD deficiency (hemolytic anemia), acute hepatic porphyria & hypersensitivity. Not to be used in infants & childn.
Special Precautions
Use at the lowest effective dose for shortest possible time. May cause an increased risk of serious CV thrombotic events, MI, & stroke; serious GI adverse events including bleeding, ulceration, & stomach or intestine perforation. Long-term NSAID administration may result in renal papillary necrosis & other renal injury; risk of renal toxicity in patients whose renal prostaglandins have a compensatory role in the maintenance of renal perfusion. Not recommended in patients w/ advanced renal disease. Established medical principle of prescribing medicaments in early pregnancy only when absolutely indicated should be borne in mind.
Adverse Reactions
Occasional allergic skin reactions (skin rash, urticaria).
Drug Interactions
Avoid taking alcohol while under treatment.
