Naphazoline HCl
Indications/Uses
Congestive states of conjunctiva, burning, itching, ocular irritation.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1-2 drops bd or tds in the lower fornix of the conjunctiva.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Narrow-angle glaucoma or serious ocular diseases. Childn <10 yr.
Special Precautions
Stop treatment in case of hypersensitivity. Do not exceed recommended dose. Do not use for >4 consecutive days. Caution in patients w/ HTN, hyperthyroidism, cardiac irregularities & diabetes; existing or history of purulent non-infectious conditions, foreign bodies in the eye, & damages due to mechanical/chemical origin or due to heat. Do not use in childn <3 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Pupil dilatation, systemic effects (HTN, cardiac diseases, hyperglycemia), increased IOP, nausea, cephalalgy.
Drug Interactions
Potential interaction w/ antidepressants.
