Anorectal disorders, Haemorrhoids
Adult: For the temporary relief of pain and itching: As 1% ointment: Apply to the anal area 3-4 times daily.
Child: For the temporary relief of pain and itching: As 1% ointment: ≥12 years Same as adult dose.

Special Precautions
Patient with G6PD deficiency, congenital or idiopathic methaemoglobinaemia, cardiac or pulmonary compromise, exposure to oxidising agents or their metabolites. Children. Pregnancy and lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Significant: Methaemoglobinaemia.
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: Acute generalised exanthematous pustulosis, allergic dermatitis.
Patient Counseling Information
Discontinue use if bleeding occurs or if anorectal condition worsens or does not improve within 7 days. Do not apply into the rectum using fingers or any mechanical device or applicator.
Action
Description:
Mechanism of Action: Cinchocaine is an amide-type local anaesthetic. It inhibits the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses by reducing sodium ion permeability of the neuronal membrane, thereby preventing depolarisation with resultant conduction blockade.
Synonym(s): Dibucaine.
Onset: Within 15 minutes.
Duration: 2-4 hours.
Pharmacokinetics:
Absorption: Well absorbed through the mucous membranes and excoriated skin; poorly absorbed through intact skin.
